No Gold Star Family will ever be asked to pay for anything. Ever. (Unless they ask for something which will benefit someone who is not a Gold Star Family Member.)*
No Gold Star Family names will be released to any person or entity at any time for any reason. Any entity which provides services for Gold Star Families will have their contact information made available to those families, if they so desire.
All private sponsors will be listed as such, as described here, in any printed material which is designed to provide such lists. * Certain conditions do apply to this statement. We will never ask a Gold Star Family member to contribute or help us pay for anything. And we will do all we can to help a Gold Star Family member in any way in which we have the capacity to do so. However, like everyone, we are limited in our financial capabilities and our physical capabilities as well. We cannot agree to help the friend of a Gold Star Family member. Only Gold Star Families are eligible to receive benefits from The Gold Star Ride Foundation.
**The Gold Star Ride Foundation is a Minnesota Corporation, and as such, is registered with, or otherwise in compliance with, all other states rules and governance regarding solicitation of funds, and charitable giving. The only exception to this statement is Hawaii, where no efforts have been made to accommodate state laws. The primary reason for this omission is our lack of ability at this time to serve any beneficiaries who might reside there. This will change in the future.
The Gold Star Ride Foundation will actively support, comfort and provide education benefits to Gold Star Families throughout the United States and will provide these things directly with personal visits via motorcycle; and we will support those other organizations that work to assist in these same activities.
The Gold Star Ride Foundation was formed in late 2016, and fullfilled all requirements of Minnesota law by registering as a non profit corporation, complete with bylaws and articles of incorporation. Additionally, we are registered with the Minnesota Attorney General's office, which is required for fundraising activities. We are registered with the IRS, and the IRS has acknowledged The Gold Star Ride Foundation as an official 501(c)3 organization meaning any donations are eligible for tax deductions.
